What you are seeing does not exist
Web of delusion, sensory reflections from your own mind, Internet as gestalt
illusion my electrons flying from East to West cum photons cum phonemes I am
wrighting for you but I do not exist, you can not see me, you have never seen
me you will never see me.
Looking at the Chengxu catalogue on the back of the Chengxu seat I am
becoming aware of the fact that the seat on which the catalogue is is not in
the catalogue and the harder I look the more certain I am that it is not there,
all the details are shared by other seats in the catalogue but not in the
combination that they are in this seat with the catalogue, the D shaped handle,
yes, the ribbed grip, yes, but not together and so I am becoming aware that
what I am seeing does not exist.
Last week I posted the People Aren't Cats video
which I admittedly compressed to the point that you can't really recognize
anyone, go on, blow it up full-screen, see if you could possibly but it's
immaterial, that line-up is, I am fairly certain, over, so I have given you a
gift indeed, the sound is pretty good and the performance, if I say so myself,
is one of the better 'Down's I've ever arranged so dig it, c'est finis, through
the miracle of digital media you are peering across time and seeing that which
does not exist.
Now I was on this bus, whatever it was, I actually have forgotten and can't
tell you without reference to the phone where I kept the note or the email
which I copied it from, neither of which am I going to bother because it
doesn't matter except insofar as this bus was absolute perfection from taking
me from my front door to Mighty Deli and H suggested it, bus maven that she is,
and I waited for it, rather pleasant in the sun, forsaking all others at Liu Li
Tai and it payed off, a beautiful day. But that wasn't all I saw.
I am leaving China. It seems unlikely that my visa will be renewed and I'm
tired of these games. So matters are taking their own course as usual, those
three months I finagled out of my folks will come a little sooner than I'd
planned and unless anyone's pregnant I'm headed back to the other side of the
world for a while pretty soon here. I do rather want to see Vietnam but I'm
pretty sure the odds of my kicking the British Council's ass will be improved
with this MSc under my belt. We will see.
